What is the delivery time from order to delivery for your limited edition prints?

What are the delivery costs for your prints?

Good news: The worldwide shipping is free of charge for you, no matter which print size you order.

How are the limited edition prints packaged?

Prints are shipped in either a reinforced packaging tube or crumble proof packaging to ensure damage-free delivery.

  • What does limited edition mean?
Limited edition prints are only ever produced in strictly limited numbers. For ”edition one | timeframe” these numbers are as follows:

    • Small prints: 50 pieces per image

    • Medium prints: 25 pieces per image

    • Large prints: 10 pieces per image

How do I know that my print is a legit one?

Each print from bilderschmied.com comes with a unique certificate of authenticity. It provides the name of the image, the edition number, production date, certificate number and a hologram authentication patch that is matched by a unique number on both the print and certificate.

If the website indicates a print is sold out, what does that mean?
”Sold Out” means that this specific print is no longer available. Once the prints sell out in each size, they will never be available again.

  • On which kind of paper are the images printed on?
All images of ”edition one | timeframe” are printed on "Hahnemühle Photo Rag" (308 GSM), one of the most appreciated fine art papers.
This white cotton artist’s paper, with its characteristic, wonderfully soft feel, boasts a lightly defined felt structure, lending each artwork a three-dimensional appearance and impressive pictorial depth. This acid- and lignin-free classic produces not only outstanding prints that feature brilliant colours, deep blacks, striking contrasts and perfect reproduction of detail, but also meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance.

How long will my print look that good? Will the colors fade after some time?
With the paper and the print there are basically two criteria for ageing, but there is no need to worry for the next 80 to 200 years.

    • The Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper we use is extremely resistant to ageing in compliance with DIN 6738 and offers the highest life expectancy of several hundred years.

    • The permanence of the print, i.e. the colour adherence, is dependent on various environmental factors like humidity, temperature or exposure to direct sunlight. With our Giclèe printing process you will get 80 years life expectancy in average daylight conditions - and 200 years if the prints are stored in the darkness of an archival box.

    What does Giclée print mean?
Giclée is the name given to an extremely high quality ink-jet printing process that produces beautiful art prints that last much longer than those produced using traditional printing techniques.

  • What is the returns policy at bilderschmied.com?
We are truly confident that you will love your print(s). They will uphold the test of time and will be a wonderful piece of art for your home or office. Since we offer a 100%-satisfaction guarantee, you donˋt take any risk by ordering from bilderschmied.com:

    • Prints which have been damaged in transit will be replaced by bilderschmied.com for free.

    • If you are, contrary to our expectations, not satisfied with your ordered print, we will happily either replace your print order with another print of equal value from bilderschmied.com, or refund your payment completely.

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions section for further details.

  • How do I find a frame that matches my ordered print?
That won’t be a problem, since all our prints come in standard aspect ratios for easy, universal framing options.
For your convenience we have created a Sizing Guide with recommendations for frames matching your print, matted or unmatted.

Do you think I should use a mat for my print?
Although you don’t have to, we strongly recommend matting your print. Not only does the mat help highlight the artwork, it also acts as protection, because the glass or acrylic does not come in direct contact with the print. The chart you can find in our Sizing Guide will help you to find the perfect mat size.

I have never framed an image before, let alone matting one. Is it hard?
Not at all. Have a look at our Framing & Matting tutorial to see how easy it is actually.

  • Is my print order environmental friendly?
We at bilderschmied.com are very proud to say that our prints are sustainably packaged and carbon neutral from end-to-end of the production cycle. This was only made possible by the amazing efforts of our print studio partner The Print Space, who have worked incredibly hard to carefully inspect every stage of their printing and shipping process:

    • Carbon neutral printing process by The Print Space UK

    • Sustainably sourced paper

    • Recyclable packaging and envelopes

    • Recyclable cardboard stiffeners to protect your print in transit

    • Paper tape made from 100% recycled fibres

    • 100% recycled polypropylene corner protectors

    • Recyclable bio-polyethylene frame protection

    • Biodegradable bubble wrap

  • Why does bilderschmied.com donate 10% of its revenue to charity?
Marcus Danz: „Working full-time with mentally handicapped children and young people, as well as travelling and photographing all over the world, I am aware of how privileged my life is. With my modest contribution, I want to support some of the people whose lives are not always that easy."

All right, but where will the 10% end up now?
It was important to us to support a local initiative that Marcus Danz, a full-time curative education nurse, can relate to. After careful consideration, we decided to donate the money to the André-Streitenberger-House.
Here, 7 long-term ventilated children and adolescents found a cosy home in a familiar atmosphere - and thus a liveable alternative to the sterility of a regular intensive care unit.
